South Cheshire and Vale Royal GP Alliance was founded in 2014 and created as a not for profit Company Limited by Guarantee with all the South Cheshire and Vale Royal practices being founder members. The GP Alliance currently consists of all 29 practices across the geographical area and the arrangements for, and governance of, the Alliance are set out in the Articles of Association, and the company is formally registered through Companies House.
The GP Alliance Board is made up of Directors appointed by the practices. Currently there are 7 Directors – 4 from South Cheshire and 3 from Vale Royal. The Board meets formally on a bi-monthly basis and informally as required. It also holds its Annual General Meeting in November of each calendar year where all member practices are invited to attend.
The GP Alliance Function and Services
The GP Alliance functions and services have evolved over the last 10 years as a result of the system changes (PCNs etc), the wants and needs of the member practices and the requirements of the CCGs / ICBs. The GP Alliance currently works to support its member practices on a range of functions and services under four headings:
– The GP Alliance Infrastructure
– The services and functions for practices
– The services and functions for PCNs
– The services and functions for the system (as requested by the ICB)
